Re-enactment Organizations  Brigade of the American Revolution (BAR) is a national organization coordinating the efforts of many groups that portray the activities of American military units and of civilian life during the Revolutionary War. Paul Ackerman, Past Commander of the the BAR coordinated the 2006 re-enactments along the W3R. Continental Line is a national organization coordinating the efforts of many groups that portray the activities of American military units from the Revolutionary War.

Lineage Organizations  Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is an international lineage organization which represents descendants of those in America and elsewhere who supported the struggle of the United States to achieve an independent government. Its goals are patriotic, educational, and historic. As part of their celebration of the 225th anniversary of the American Revolution they established a committee to support the development of the W3R, with a designated representative in each state along the W3R. The Daughters of the Cincinnati is a lineage organization comprised of direct descendants of the officers who served in the Continental Army under Gen. Washington. The Society of the Cincinnati is an international lineage organization comprised of direct descendants of the officers who served in the Continental Army under Gen. Washington or who served in the French Expeditionary Force under Gen. Rochambeau. Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) is an international lineage organization comprised of descendants of those in America and elsewhere who supported the struggle of the United States to achieve an independent government. Its goals are patriotic, educational, and historical. The SAR has had a W3R Liaison or Committee to support the development of the W3R, with a designated representative in each state along the W3R. Sons of the Revolution (SR) is a national lineage organization comprised of descendants of the active military or legislatures or appointed officials during the struggle of the United States to achieve an independent government. Its goals are patriotic, educational, historical, and fraternal.

French Associations  The Les Amis de Rochambeau en Vendômois (The Friends of Rochambeau in Vendôme) is a French organization to honor the Comte de Rochambeau, who had an illustrious career in France both before and after his service as commander of French troops in the American War of Independence. The website has photos and descriptions of the activities of this group, including photos of the general's home, with many people in 18th century dress and uniforms. The Branche Française of the SAR organized an international Alliance Day program in February 2003 to celebrate the 225th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Commerce -- the first diplomatic recognition of the United States as an independent nation. Socieity Française des Cincinnati -- the French branch of The Society of the Cincinnati (link provided above) --. is comprised of descendants of the officers who served in the French army and navy around the world while France and the U.S. were allied during the American Revolution. This includes the participants in the Expeditionary Force under Gen. Rochambeau and the sailors in Admiral de Grasse's fleet.. History Associations, Centers, Archives  The American Battlefield Trust is dedicated to preserving battlefields on U.S soil and developing educational programs for public use of those battlefields. Search for "Rochambeau" to find the articles mentioning him on this site. The American Friends of Lafayette is an historical and patriotic society dedicated to the memory of Major General Gilbert Motier, Marquis de Lafayette and to the study of his life and times in America and France. The American Revolution Association   (ARA) provides scholarship, fellowship and fun for Revolutionary War constituencies across the country and throughout the world. Its website includes a magazine with articles on the Revolution by noted scholars, a calendar of upcoming commemorations and historical symposia, photos of past events, an on-line store for period attire, and links to other resources. American Revolution Round Table of New York has talks by top scholars and authors on the American Revolution, networking and conversation, dinner, and entertaining book reviews and book auctions. The website has links to twelve other Am. Rev. Roundtables which have similar programs. The Expèdition Particulière Commemorative Cantonment Society (EP) was an association of people interested in the members and activities of the French Expeditionary Force during the U.S. Revolutionary War. Hermione-La Fayette Association is an international group which -- during 1997-2014 -- built a replica of L'Hermione. In April 1780 the original ship brought American General Lafayette back to the United States from France. Lafayette carried a secret message to General Washington that France was about to send thousands of troops in an expeditionary force under General Rochambeau. Their mission was to help the Continental Army defeat and expel the occupying British army from the United States. In 2015 a new website was launched to support the 2015 tour of the replica L'Hermione to ports along the east coast of the United States. The McNeil Center for Early American Studies is an interdisciplinary community of scholars who study the histories and cultures of North America in the Atlantic world before 1850. It has hosted several symposia on the W3R® The National Mall Liberty Fund, D.C. is working toward placing on the Mall in Washington DC a monument commemorating the contributions of Americans of African descent to the American Revolution. This would include soldiers, sailors, and the transport and supply operations of the Continental army. State Historic Preservation Officers (SHPOs) and their staffs and advisors have kept the need for respecting and learning from our history before state legislatures and private foundations so as to provide the funds and legislation needed for effective action. Southern Campaigns of the American Revolution is an on-line magazine is dedicated to the study of the War for American Independence in the Southern Department from 1760 to 1789 and in its greater context. On the same site is information about the Southern Campaigns Revolutionary War Roundtable. This is an informal gathering of professional and amateur researchers interested in sharing and helping others on topics in the era of the American Revolution.
